KBR works as a global provider in the government services and hydrocarbons sectors. Originally known as Kellogg, Brown & Root, KBR was once a subsidiary of Halliburton. The two companies formally separated in late 2006. It is a procurement, engineering, and construction company employing about 34, 000 people across the globe (including their joint ventures).
They have three global businesses:
Technology and Consulting, which focuses on hydrocarbons within petrochemicals and ethylene (particularly natural gas and natural gas liquids). This section also works on oil refining; gasification; ammonia, and nitric acid and fertilizers; oil and gas consulting; integrity management; naval architecture and proprietary hulls.
Government Services, this program covers program management, operations, maintenance, and field logistics for space, defense, aviation, and other government programs and missions.
Engineering and Construction, which includes gas and onshore oil; liquefaction and regasification fertilizers; oil refining operations; and maintenance services (under Brown & Root Industrial Services). These services also include petrochemicals and chemicals; offshore oil and gas (this is deep-water, subsea, and shallow-water); and floating solutions.
